"My health" after a month. There is no shortage of people willing to take free tests, the first to sign up are young people

Over 260 thousand patients all over Poland have filled out questionnaires qualifying for the preventive program "Moje Zdrowie". Out of them, almost half have already been scheduled for tests or have been tested by clinics - according to the latest data provided to Rynek Zdrowia by Centrum e-Zdrowia.
- The largest number of surveys were completed by primary health care clinics in the Silesian Voivodeship (15,919), Masovian Voivodeship (14,425) and Greater Poland Voivodeship (14,051).
- - This number is constantly growing. We can expect that it will eventually approach 100% - says Tomasz Kulas from the e-Health Center
- Although - as he admits - there are probably still facilities that have not started to take surveys of patients assigned to them
Thursday, June 5 marked a month since the launch of the "Moje Zdrowie" program, which replaced the "Profilaktyka 40 plus" program implemented since July 2021. The Ministry of Health advertises it as an adult's health assessment. Anyone over the age of 20 can take advantage of the free tests offered under the program. Another novelty is the introduction of a mandatory medical consultation.
We checked how the project is being implemented. Official data provided to us by the e-Health Center show that 260,620 people completed the questionnaires qualifying for the study. The largest number of applications was submitted in the first days after the program was launched and on May 19, 20, and 21. The leaders in the ranking are residents of the Masovian, Silesian, and Greater Poland provinces.
As of 9 a.m. on June 5, the document had been completed by 31,468 patients in Mazovia, 31,434 residents of the Silesian province and 29,583 people in Greater Poland. Fourth in this classification is Małopolska (21,564 questionnaires) and the Pomeranian province (19,314). The fewest questionnaires have been received so far from the Opole province (6,753) and the Świętokrzyskie province (6,966).
Primary care clinics have so far taken 127,376 surveys, which is 48.9% of the completed documents. Clinics have 30 days to contact the patient. In practice, this means that almost half of the patients who have signed up for the program have already been scheduled for tests or have even had them done.
The largest number of surveys were completed by primary healthcare institutions in the Silesian Voivodeship (15,919), Masovian Voivodeship (14,425) and Greater Poland Voivodeship (14,051).
CeZ spokesman Tomasz Kulas points out that the number of surveys undertaken is constantly growing. - We can expect that it will eventually approach 100% - he emphasizes.
At the same time, he admits that the involvement of individual institutions across the country still varies.
The first to report for testing are people in their 20s and 30s.- There are probably some primary healthcare facilities that have not yet started to take patient surveys assigned to them, even though 30 days have already passed since they were completed (if someone completed the survey on May 5). However, we have no doubt that this will even out over time, as the positive trend in taking surveys by primary healthcare facilities is very clear - he explains.
The most common people to apply for tests under the program are those in their 20s and 30s, i.e. people who were not given the opportunity to be tested under the previous program. According to data from the Ministry of Health, among women, the most applications were received from women aged 20-29 (39%) and 30-39 (28%).
Every eighth survey was from a woman aged 40-49 (16%), every tenth (9%) aged 50-59, every twentieth (5%) aged 60-69, every fiftieth (2%) aged 70-79, and every hundredth (1%) aged over 80.
As for men, during the first month, the largest number of applications for tests were also received from people aged 20-29 (28%) and 30-39 (25%). Every fifth survey (19%) was completed by men aged 40-49, 12% of applications were received from men aged 50-59, 9% - from men aged 60-69, 5% - from men aged 70-79 and 1% - from men over 80.
Let us remind you that a health assessment can be performed after at least 12 months from the last examination under the "Prophylaxis 40 Plus" program and from the last examination performed as part of the prevention of circulatory system diseases (CVD).
Free tests at every primary care clinicAt the beginning, the doctor, nurse, midwife or prophylactician conducts a questionnaire with the patient. It can also be completed independently via the Internet Patient Account (IKP). This is an in-depth interview about lifestyle, risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, oncological diseases, taking into account family history and mental health. It will also include an environmental interview.
Such a questionnaire, after approval, is the basis for generating an order for tests. The tests consist of: blood count, blood glucose level, blood creatinine level with estimated eGFR value (a parameter concerning the kidneys), lipid profile including total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglycerides, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH).
Extended tests are ordered depending on age and the results of the survey. These may include: alanine aminotransferase (ALAT), aspartate aminotransferase (ASPAT), gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGTP), total PSA (an indicator of prostate enlargement) in men, anti-HCV (hepatitis C), lipoprotein A - performed as part of a once-in-a-lifetime assessment between the ages of 20 and 40 (assessment of the risk of developing cardiovascular disease). When the patient receives the test results, they must go to a summary visit to the primary care physician.
The Ministry of Health predicts that "Moje zdrowie" will cost approximately PLN 336.5 million in 2025, and PLN 434.5 million in the following year.
